I have a background in ballet, tap, modern, hip hop, and African dance. I've always wanted to be well-rounded and expand my knowledge and skills to be a better dancer. My biggest inspirations have always been Debbie Allen for her high energy and amazing technique, Janet Jackson for being an incredible entertainer and performer, and Beyonce for her versatility. I want to continue to push myself and take leaps of faith, which I was scared to do for a long time.
Being in Ciara's music video will impact my life immensely. For a long time, I didn't think that I was good enough to be a professional dancer and I have been working on building my confidence by exploring who I am and embracing that so I don't continue to hold myself back. I am grateful for the experiences I've had and people I've met that have allowed me to grow as a dancer and believe in myself more, so I can take advantage of opportunities like this.
I would pay off debt, give some to charity, and invest the rest to reach my goals. I want to continue my dance journey while also continuing my journey of becoming a licensed clinical social worker. Just like dance, being a blessing to others has always brought me joy and fulfillment by helping my family, volunteering, and working with underserved populations. I want to continue to grow and learn while being supportive and compassionate to those around me.
The search is on for eight dancers to be flown to a live judged event in Phoenix, AZ, showcasing their skills to Ciara and her choreographer, Jamaica Craft. One will be chosen to appear in her upcoming music video and win $20,000!
