My style infuses modern&hiphop.I love LesterHorton&MarthaGraham’s use of shapes.As a girl,I trained in ballet,jazz,&African.I studied drama&dance at Spelman.I performed at AmericanCollegeDanceFestival at the KennedyCenter.At the festival I took class w/AnnReinking & JawoleWillaJoZollar.Many of my mentors came from AlvinAiley;I took classes there when in NYC.I’m inspired by dancers who do multiple genres ie Eartha Kitt.My fav choreographer right now:ParrisGoebel.
Ciara will be named among legendary dancer performers: Janet Jackson,Madonna.Being in Ciara’s music video would be a priceless master class.The experience I would gain not only from the performance, but from the rehearsal period would be invaluable.I'd be learning from the best.Being selected would also give me exposure to book other gigs that align w/ the dance vibes I enjoy. I was the little girl dancing to “Like a Boy” in her bedroom - to dance w/ Ciara would be full circle
If I won $20,000 I would first pay off student loans from my drama & dance degree. I would invest the rest back into my career. It would allow me to afford to stay in multiple dance classes. I could purchase more comfortable heels for that class. Okay okay and I would buy myself a lobster dinner
The search is on for eight dancers to be flown to a live judged event in Phoenix, AZ, showcasing their skills to Ciara and her choreographer, Jamaica Craft. One will be chosen to appear in her upcoming music video and win $20,000!
