Help me compete to become the Dance Icon and appear in a music video with Ciara and win $20,000!
My dance style varies drastically, but I find that the styles I enjoy most are hip-hop, jazz, and majorette as well. I’m heavily inspired by K-Pop also. I find that the various choreo styles between both male and female groups gives so much room for creativity. I like when choreography includes both sharp, powerful movement, as well as fluid, elegant movement. I love levels, energy, and emotion in dance! That’s everything dance SHOULD be.
Being in Ciara’s music video would give me a huge push. It would force me to step outside of my little bubble of posting choreo online, and leaving dance videos in my drafts. I find that it’s easiest to think about my dreams, and to imagine what it would be like… it’s more fun that way, right? Actually doing it, can be scary. This competition is my first step towards going for it.
There’s so many things that come to mind. I would first pay off the debt I have at my old school, Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD). I was there for Performing Arts on a small scholarship, but after my first two years struggling there, and the people and things I was surrounded by, I decided that was not where God wanted me to be. I would put some of the money towards getting my first car as well! Lastly, I give a lump to my mother, and save the rest for my own home one day.
The search is on for eight dancers to be flown to a live judged event in Phoenix, AZ, showcasing their skills to Ciara and her choreographer, Jamaica Craft. One will be chosen to appear in her upcoming music video and win $20,000!
