My favorite dance style is definitely hip-hop. This style of dance allows me to have an outlet to let out heightened energy and express bodily movements to energetic and enigmatic music. Beyonce is an artist who inspires me not only when it comes to dancing but also when it comes to performing. I'm always in awe at how much authenticity, passion, and rawness she puts into her work and performances, and I emulate these same traits in my own way when performing.
The impact of possibly being involved in a Ciara music video is unexplainable. I've just now started to seriously consider dance as a career and I believe this opportunity would be a great first step. However, professional reasons are not at the forefront. I've always appreciated how much Ciara highlights dance in her music and performances, and I simply want to be able to engage in such a vibrant environment. All in all, I believe this experience would be spiritually fulfilling and nurturing.
I would use the amount to further my dance career journey, give some portion of it to my family, and some to pay off some student loans. I'm currently in my last semester of college and plan to take time off from further schooling (nursing school) to focus on dance after I graduate. Deciding to take part in this competition is a huge risk for me, but I know it's necessary for the journey as a place to learn about the dance world and what I offer to said world.
