I am fully trained in Kuchipudi, a traditional Indian classical dance form. I started learning when I was 5 and continued to grow & start instructing. I began teaching myself Bollywood when I was 8. Recently, I’ve been learning various new styles, primarily hip hop. Today, my personal dance style is a mix of every movement I’ve come across in my dance journey. My inspiration is my Kuchipudi teacher who has shaped me into the person & dancer I am today.
Outside of being an incredible experience where I can work with Ciara, learn from other dancers, & be a part of incredible dance styles & choreography, being in her music video will help me personally as well. I would feel very confident in how far I’ve come as a dancer & be very energized to learn/grow/achieve more. I would also be a part of a larger community of dancers and styles that would teach me a lot both personally and professionally.
I would use it towards opening a dance school/ have my own studio space. I have wanted to open a dance school for as long as I can remember and have been saving up to do so. I also want to host a large dance showcase, where artists can perform their choreographies on social issues. This showcase would give dancers the opportunities to think outside the box while helping others in need. The money that is made from the show would be donated to charities that help with these social issues.
Colossal is a nationally registered professional fundraiser that inspires people to advocate for themselves and those in need. Through online competitions like Entrepreneur of Impact, Colossal offers participants the opportunity to make their mark while also making a big impact.
