I truly am inspired by dance that is unique and unconventional. Different cultures, different styles, the way dance brings a community together. I watch dance being celebrated in so many different ways. I take that knowledge and fuse it into my own training and my own body. I’m professionally trained in technical genre's, but adding a unique flair from what I feel or were exposed to takes my style to new levels.
This would greatly impact my life but proving to myself that I can make it in the commercial dance industry. This has been a dream and goal of mine since dance came into my life. This will open the doors to step into the entertainment world to continue my dreams. It will inspire young brown girls like myself, that they can make it with taking a chance on themselves.
I would use half of the $20,000 to create a dance intensive for my local community. Inviting students from local schools that enjoy dance and might not have the means to afford a dance school. The other half would be used to help fund my own dance career expenses and allow myself to settle down in a location where dance fuels the culture.
Colossal is a nationally registered professional fundraiser that inspires people to advocate for themselves and those in need. Through online competitions like Entrepreneur of Impact, Colossal offers participants the opportunity to make their mark while also making a big impact.
