My dance style is old school hip hop at its core with some fusion of Modern and Freestyle elements. I was raised in the church so I started off learning dance through Praise Dance/Liturgical Dance. I was not exposed to a dance studio environment. However, I wanted to pursue dance more seriously, so I took Ballet classes to build technique and was admitted into Howard University's Dance Minor Program where I studied West African, Ballet- Cechetti, and Modern- Primus, Dunham, Horton, and Graham.
I grew up on Ciara and love not only who she is as a person, but the songs she gave me to jam to as a teenager. I remember buying her 1,2, step DVD to learn the choreography to the her music videos, and she has been an inspiration. It would impact my life as a dance studio owner, who sometimes does not get the opportunity to be the performer, because I'm championing the dancers of my studio, Bri's Dance Place. I think our families would be proud of Mrs. Bri for going after her childhood dream!
With $20,000, I would be able to provide 5, $1,000 scholarships to students to attend Bri's Dance Place. I would save $10,000 for a rainy day, because life as a full time entrepreneur can be unpredictable. With the remaining $5,000 I would take a 7 day 6 night Adult Only Cruise to Ibiza Spain with my husband in October for our 9 year wedding anniversary. Being a full time entrepreneur with three small children, I can be the last person on the list, but I really want to go to Spain with my boo!
