I was first inspired to dance by watching my older sister videotape music videos to learn and perfect the moves she saw. My first big dance memory was trying to imitate her and recreate the solo breakdown from Janet Jackson's Pleasure Principle. I never learned that backflip, but in the years that have transpired since then, I have had an amazing dance journey alongside my sister. My style today captures all the influence I've gained from artists like Michael, Janet, Paula, and, yes, Ciara.
Since becoming a Mother, one of the greatest joys I have been given is being blessed with a tiny "dancer in the making." Being in this video would not only be a life-long dream come true for me, but it would also help me be a role model to my six-year-old son, showing him that it is always possible to achieve your dreams, no matter how long it might take.
If I won the grand prize, I would use the $20k to kickstart a hip-hop studio here in my community. Giving my son, other children, and adults a place to express themselves and learn all forms of hip-hop. That would also serve as a place to showcase their talents. Hopefully, creating some show-stopping artist like Ciara in the process.
Colossal is a nationally registered professional fundraiser that inspires people to advocate for themselves and those in need. Through online competitions like Entrepreneur of Impact, Colossal offers participants the opportunity to make their mark while also making a big impact.
