My dance style mostly consists of jazz funk, jazz technique, and hip hop. When I dance in these styles, I tap into a different persona which allows me to be more free in my movements and faces. Additionally, my inner being/personality truly shines through these dance styles in comparison to ballet where I have to be more structured as I am a very energetic dancer.
Being in Ciara’s music video would be a major break for me in my dance career. People always compliment my dancing, and of course I say, “thank you,” but on the inside I personally don’t think my dancing is ‘all that.’ I want to stop thinking like this and just be confident in myself and who I am as a dancer. All of this is to say that, being in Ciara’s music video would truly boost my confidence and make me feel like I can truly do this.
With the $20,000, I would pay off someone of my student loans that I have acquired so far, save it for my future endeavors, give some to family, and plan trips to major dance cities like Los Angeles, New York City, and Atlanta in order to take more classes, grow, and build my resume.
