Dance was always a big part of my life growing up and there have been times where I doubted myself. What inspired me to keep going was God, my parents, family, friends, dance instructors, and also seeing dancers my age who kept going despite what life throws at them. My dance style is influenced by Bahamian folk dance and elements of ballet, jazz, majorette and modern dance.
Ever since I was a little girl all I wanted to do was dance. Being in Ciara's video would level up my dance career as an aspiring professional dancer and showcase my talent to the world. Young dancers would also view me as an inspiration and always remember to dream big and that anyone can follow their passion.
The prize of $20,000 will go towards my college tuition so I can continue my studies and earn my bachelor's degree in dance. I plan to use my acquired knowledge and skills to give back to my home country, The Bahamas, as they supported me and shaped me into the dancer that I am today. I plan to do this by teaching Bahamian dancers what I have learnt throughout my years of dance and how I persevered through difficult times.
The search is on for eight dancers to be flown to a live judged event in Phoenix, AZ, showcasing their skills to Ciara and her choreographer, Jamaica Craft. One will be chosen to appear in her upcoming music video and win $20,000!
