Emotion inspires me. Dance is a language I use to communicate messages that I feel are best “heard” when they are felt. Feeling dance is different for everyone, so when I dance, I am 100% committed to my expression from head to toe to ensure my story is coming across. Contemporary dance helps me through tough times, hip hop helps me celebrate, and heels dance is my way of sharing the confidence I have built while embracing my most authentic self.
Being in Ciara’s music video would literally jumpstart everything I know I can be doing right now. This opportunity is amazing and serves as the inspiration to work hard and keep chasing my dreams. As a dancer, especially being primarily self taught, I am extremely hard on myself so having achieved something like this would definitely be validating to myself as a dancer.
Get a car. I often have to pass on opportunities because between work and school, it is difficult to find time to commute to things like auditions and classes with respected choreographers. Simply being able to have the ability to decide to go to these things will make a huge difference in where I am in achieving my dreams of being a professional dancer. Also being able to choreograph and film content in different places will allow me to be even more creative and immersive in my vision.
Colossal is a nationally registered professional fundraiser that inspires people to advocate for themselves and those in need. Through online competitions like Entrepreneur of Impact, Colossal offers participants the opportunity to make their mark while also making a big impact.
