My dance inspiration is the shared and connected pain and heartbreak I’ve experienced in my life… dance to release and heal. Comes from being a black woman…hated by many however sought after only for her body and what she can do and not who she is as an individual. I dance for my identity and as a reminder and shared heartache in black women around the world that feels or thinks they are not worthy, loved or powerful in their own right
Just having the opportunity to dance along side Ciara and in her music video would be a full circle moment for me. I didn’t grow up having rhythm but I still danced to her songs anyway even down to the back bend and ankle move lol. Plus her love story and manifesting her husband and life just gives me hope that I will have my time to be in love and love returned to me in full.
For starters I’d put money towards my classes for my American Sign Language interpretation courses, and the rest I would love to use to travel to different countries and learn their dance/ritual styles. I believe dance is a universal non verbal language that we all share even if you don’t supposedly have rhythm to back it up. The genuine communication through our dancing and body language, and to have the opportunity to learn, practice with others with something that brings me joy.
Colossal is a nationally registered professional fundraiser that inspires people to advocate for themselves and those in need. Through online competitions like Entrepreneur of Impact, Colossal offers participants the opportunity to make their mark while also making a big impact.
