My dance style is a dynamic fusion of hip hop and Caribbean dance culture, combining the raw energy and precision of hip hop with the fluidity, rhythm, and infectious energy of Caribbean movement. Raised in this vibrant environment, I bring a unique flavor, blending hip hop's sharp footwork and powerful gestures with the smooth, rhythmic flow of Caribbean styles like dancehall and soca. This blend gives my performances a distinctive edge, full of attitude, rhythm, and cultural richness.
Being in Ciara's video would be a dream because she embodies the power of blending talent, hard work, and creativity in the dance world. For me, it is an opportunity to showcase black women power to my students. Sharing this experience with my students would be invaluable, as it would inspire them to push boundaries, stay dedicated, and understand the importance of perseverance. It teaches them that dreams can become reality with passion, discipline, and a strong sense of self.
With the money, I would invest in starting my own performing arts business, focusing on providing high-quality dance and performance training at the micro school where I currently work. I’d use the funds to create a dedicated space for classes, purchase necessary equipment, and offer diverse programs in dance, music and basic instruments. This business would empower students to explore their creativity while helping them build confidence, discipline, and teamwork.
Colossal is a nationally registered professional fundraiser that inspires people to advocate for themselves and those in need. Through online competitions like Entrepreneur of Impact, Colossal offers participants the opportunity to make their mark while also making a big impact.
