I started dancing at 3 and have a wide variety of styles under my belt. From ballet, tap, jazz, hip hop, contemporary, modern, ballroom, and much more—I aim to inspire others through my movement. I'm inspired by dancers like Martha Nichols, Lex Ishimoto, Bada Lee, and Ciara herself. I would describe my dance style as dynamic, groovy, and rhythmic with hip hop, jazz, and contemporary being the main sources of inspiration.
I have looked up to Ciara and her music videos for YEARS! I've found myself bettering myself and my training through watching dancers in music videos and would love to serve as an inspiration to those in the dance community. As a transgender person, it would also mean the world to me to be able to make a name for myself in the industry, proving that dance is an artform that can be loved and expressed by anyone. It would be an absolute dream to be apart of an opportunity like this.
I would first pay off a portion of my college loans! I've just started my payments and they're extremely expensive so it would truly take a huge weight off of my shoulders to pay for a large portion of it. I would then get gender-affirming surgery to help me live in the most comfortable state of my body. Lastly, I would be able to fulfill my dream and move to New York City to continue to propel my dance career forward.
Colossal is a nationally registered professional fundraiser that inspires people to advocate for themselves and those in need. Through online competitions like Entrepreneur of Impact, Colossal offers participants the opportunity to make their mark while also making a big impact.
