I grew up doing only hip hop, with krump being the main influence. When I was 15 I branched out and started falling in love with contemporary, jazz, and concert styles. Being from a more street background I struggled with the technique aspect of those, so I found myself incorporating my more hard hitting nature to them to make them feel more like me, which I continue to practice. Textures deriving from krump and other street styles within contemporary movements is what i would consider my style!
Ciara has been not just a mover that I’ve looked up to since I was 5, but a performer as well. Even just being in the same room as her would be endlessly inspiring. As someone who tends to struggle with their confidence, being in a Ciara music video would truly give me that push to finally make my move to Los Angeles. It would also make me a better dancer teacher, I currently am a teacher at my home studio so this experience would help me provide more information and skill sets for my stud
With $20,000 mine and my family’s lives would be changed. With 2/3 of the money I would give back to those who gave so much to me. That being all 4 of my parents and my studio owners. All of them have been the most supportive, caring, and compassionate family I could ever ask for. With the rest of the money I would save it so I have a comfortable amount put away for when I move.
The search is on for eight dancers to be flown to a live judged event in Phoenix, AZ, showcasing their skills to Ciara and her choreographer, Jamaica Craft. One will be chosen to appear in her upcoming music video and win $20,000!
