I would describe my dance style as fluid, open, and energetic! My comfort genre consists of HipHop, jazz, and majorette styles. I have been dancing since the age of 2 and would consider my training a mix between self taught and professional. Any type of movement with music is freeing and I’m always open to enhancing my technique. Ciara has inspired me to pursue dance further than the age I was introduced to it. I always find myself training to mimic her moves.
Dance is an undeniable moment of freedom for me. I believe my passion for dance has pushed me beyond what I was told my capabilities could be. Dance has brought me through insecurity, depression, and now health limitations. Ciara being my idol is an understatement. She has inspired me throughout the years with her positive influence, giving young women the strength to be confident, and I’ve shown that through dance. I’d like to manifest and say WHEN I win the 20k, I will invest in the research of breast cancer presenting itself in younger women. Unfortunately, this isn’t our “grandmother’s” diagnosis anymore, and is beginning to show in women my age or younger. I would also like to use the winnings to secure my fertility treatment, as chemo alters reproductive abilities, and unfortunately IVF is not covered by insurance.
