It's definitely Hip Hop to the core. Like a rapper is to BOOM BAP. It's a certain foundation to the community that's integral to a dancer. I could always look to the streets for inspiration and encouragement. It invited me to try new things and to not be afraid of what others would say. Combining things like ballroom, bachata and jazz came so naturally living in places like California and Texas. I take it with me wherever I go simply because that's where I came from.
I've been watching videos of CiCi for so long. Ever since my girl dropped 20 years ago. Goodies was so raw and real. It gave that hood feel that everybody needed and wanted. That was a black girl saying that she could be something and to actually see her be it and more is beyond amazing. Get Up is my one. It's CIARA TIME!
