I’ve been trained in many dance styles; from the classic ballet, tap, jazz trio, to heels and hip hop, contemporary and modern, and everything in between. The most fun for me is heels in a jazz funk/ hip hop capacity. The dynamics and textures you can explore in this style are just endless.
Being in Ciara’s music video would be actually life changing. I’ve always wanted to pursue dancing professionally or getting the opportunity to perform at a high level. One of my very first hip hop dances when I was 10 was to Ciara’s Get Up. It would be full circle if I got to dance in her music video almost 20 years later.
I would use the $20,000 to help pay off my student loans in hopes of being able to launch a sustainable career in the dance world without worrying about bills. I got my education as a civil engineer and although it is a good career, I’ve found that it’s not as fulfilling it would be to dance for a living, doing something I’m truly passionate about and have been since the age of 5.
The search is on for eight dancers to be flown to a live judged event in Phoenix, AZ, showcasing their skills to Ciara and her choreographer, Jamaica Craft. One will be chosen to appear in her upcoming music video and win $20,000!
