I have always loved watching Paula Abdul and Gaga and Janet growing up. They were so clean and cool about everything. Now I’m really enjoying Sean Bankhead’s work. Never misses. Incredible timing and use of every part of the body. I have background in theatre and pop work. I usually feel most comfortable free styling but picking up choreo has always come easy to me.
Life has been hard for my family recently. I have felt myself slipping away from my passions and just being way harder on myself than before. It’s all about healing right now and this would be such an amazing opportunity to live my dream of dancing with the greats. Dance and moving and getting up every month to do our drag show we started has what’s kept us going through all the turmoil. Dance is my therapy and I may not have extreme training and perfected technique but I FEEL.
I would repay my parents for the school they put me through. They have always supported me as a queer entertainer and student. They’ve done more for me than anyone ever has. I would share some with my partner who has been the light in dark times. We could get our own place. A rental like something cute. And I would put the rest into my show. ALT3R. We strive to give young queer entertainers a place to be themselves. I would be able to book and pay these ATL performers what they deserve.
The search is on for eight dancers to be flown to a live judged event in Phoenix, AZ, showcasing their skills to Ciara and her choreographer, Jamaica Craft. One will be chosen to appear in her upcoming music video and win $20,000!
