My dance style is soul, I feel it deep inside of me. Expressing the essence of my soul. I feel like a painter when I’m dancing , creating a mural of the song I’m moving too. I’m a Groover, a hood ballerina my style is boundless. My style is inspired by dance hall, Chicago footwork, WALACAM, belly dancing, house, and hip-hop.
I believe being in Ciara’s music video will help my creative direction by connecting me to bigger spaces to express my true vision. Having a bigger outlet. I believe it will water me to grow into the artist I’m destined to bee. It also would show my daughter, sisters, and students that dreams do come true and if they want something they can have it if they go for it.
If I received the $20,000 is I would invest in a dancing program for youth in Chicago, I currently teach dance at Burke Elementary, working in CPS as Dance instructor has encouraged me to help children connected to their roots through dance. I would also help my mother buy a house. I’m the oldest of 13 children, my mom raised me into who I am today and I would want to help her just like she helped me.
