I allow myself to take inspiration from many different places. Throughout my life I have trained in several styles including ballet, jazz, and hip-hop to name a few. My style is classic, yet timeless. Taking inspiration anywhere from 1930s musicals to current kpop groups, I like to mix the old with the new. While my style leans into the vintage, I am adaptable. I'm always looking for new nuggets of inspiration.
Dancing is my life, my sanity, and my peace. I took my first steps in a dance studio and delayed pursuing college to accept a company position right out of high school. My life came to a screeching halt when performing arts was shut down due to COVID-19. I have since been throwing myself back out into the world of dance and trying fall back in love with what was taken so harshly from me. Being in this music video would help me to relaunch my career. I don't want to dance, I have to dance.
With this $20,000, I could finally break out on my own. I could pursue dance more freely without the pressures of financial burden. Living in this economy is no small feat. I've had to miss out on auditions and opportunities because I can't afford to take off from work. The prize money would be a stepping stone towards financial freedom and getting to Broadway. It would be a fresh start for me in my new era of life.
The search is on for eight dancers to be flown to a live judged event in Phoenix, AZ, showcasing their skills to Ciara and her choreographer, Jamaica Craft. One will be chosen to appear in her upcoming music video and win $20,000!
