My dance career began with Traditional West and South African dance. Through that, I was able to better understand the relationship that dance and music have in order to apply it to Ballet, Contemporary/Modern, Tap, Hip-hop, jazz, and even Flamenco dance. My mother, who is also a dancer, has been and will always be my inspiration. She still continues to dance despite having double knee injuries, proving that no matter what you can still do what you love!
Being in Ciara’s music video would stand as a marker that I’ve made it. I used to learn all of her choreography and dance with my shadow in my house, especially the “Like A Boy” choreo, so having this opportunity would show that I have worked hard and that it’s time to work even harder. With $20,000, I would be able to do so much. Part of that money would go toward my son’s schooling, I would help with my grandmother’s chemotherapy treatments, and then I would donate to charities that support domestic violence victims and children.
