What inspires me and my style the most is a notion from an African dance class I took where the teacher explained that the music(drums) and movement were one and the same. It made me realize that when I embody that, dance feels so much better to me. I love dancing in an instinctual manner as well as a conversational manner. I also grew up with a strong dance community around me, so I am very inspired by dances that have that “pack” mentality. Much like the “Level Up” chor
Being in Ciara’s music video would be a dream come true. She was one of the main pioneers who incorporated (good)dancing into a music career and it helped make dancing more mainstream. I remember being in my best friend’s living replicating the moves from “One, Two Step” and “Like a Boy” and still replicating “Level Up” and “How We Roll” more recently. I would use the $20,000 to pay off some debt and pay for renovations/furniture for my house. My husband and I were fortunate enough to buy a house back in June, but it’s completely gutted and we haven’t been able to do all of the work that needs to be done. That money would be a great help for us to be able to move in!
