I began my dance journey at the age of 2 as a praise dancer. Since then, I have been bitten by the dance bug and have not stopped. Later, I studied contemporary dance, hip-hop, ballet, jazz, and tap. As my love of dance developed, I also wanted to explore other dance cultures. This led me to explore afro-styles. Since I didn't have many dance peers my own race growing up, I took inspiration from Black artists like Ciara. Due to my background, I'm prepared for any opportunity.
After recently experienced the loss of my grandma and the near loss of my mom within months of each other, appearing in Ciara’s video wouldn't only showcase my talent, but also serve as a testament to my resilience and determination in the face of adversity. Being a part of such a high-profile video would be a dream come true. The thought of achieving this dream brings both joy and purpose, motivating me to push forward despite the challenges I've faced.
I intend to use some of the winnings to support dancers in my community by providing free lessons for beginner-advanced dancers. Part of the funds will be invested so in 6-9 months I will be able to donate to the Congo relief effort. My goal is to turn the $20,000 into a gift that keeps giving. A portion of the funds would be set aside for my peers who are seeking assistance with housing & food. My final wish is to take my parents on a trip in appreciation of all their support in my journey.
