My dance style is heavily influence by the beautiful and genius women of the HBCU dance world, specifically taking direct inspiration from Brianni Bankston (ASU Stingette), Janae Harrington (ASU Stingettes), and also Kayla King (TxSU Motion of the Ocean). The power of embracing femininity and letting your body tell a story that lyrics can't even convey is what I find so magical about this style of dance. My style is essentially a mix of Jazz, Hiphop, and Seductive & Sexy.
I grew up imitating the choreography from "Promise" anytime it came on the TV, so to be granted an chance like this is only something God can bestow. Ciara has always been a big inspiration in my personal dance style. This would be such a humbling experience. This would impact me in many ways. The doors this could open are only a dream to boys like me.
I would first pay off my balance for school, and then help pay for things around the house to help my grandmother maintain her mobility as she cannot walk or talk. Its difficult to take her outside for even just a little fresh air and I feel terrible that she is not able to experience life as I do. So to sum it up, I would use this money to elderly proof my grandmas house and pay for my last year in college. Thank you for this opportunity!
