My dance style is versatile and always evolving. I always keep myself on a full out and performative standard. My home studio helped me develop a style of being fluid through my entire body, using every muscle and cultivating a conversation with the audience through my body and emotions. I must leave my mark on at least one person when I perform. I have a range of femininity and masculinity, emotional to hard core, and emoting through all styles of dance.
Working with Ciara would change my life and how I view myself as a dancer. I have not worked in this caliber of the dance industry and it would be such a full circle moment to dance with a key artist from my childhood. It would give me the opportunity to soak up more knowledge when it comes to the dance industry and how to navigate opportunities this major. It will show me that this was apart of God’s plan for me. I prayed that if this is meant for me I will do my part to make it happen.
With $20,000 I would finally be able to do more than just get by and give back to my communities. I have a goal to create a scholarship for 1-2 girls who would like to attend Grambling State and dance to help them with finances and dance training. Also I would like to give back to my home studio and high school to help them help our Chicago dance community. I would be able to stop being at risk of homelessness and provide myself with a place to stay and pursue more opportunities in dance.
Colossal is a nationally registered professional fundraiser that inspires people to advocate for themselves and those in need. Through online competitions like Entrepreneur of Impact, Colossal offers participants the opportunity to make their mark while also making a big impact.
