As someone who danced in high school and college, Ciara was our go-to for inspiration! Her moves and style are on another level and she is always pushing the boundaries/envelope of what you thought was possible. Anytime she released a new music video we would be on high alert because we knew she was going to incorporate some next level moves. That being said, I would describe elements of my dance style similar to that of Ciara. Such as, authenticity, athleticism, sexy, but cool and confident.
Tremendously! As cliche as it sounds, it would be a dream come true. Because as a Black woman dancer you look to the GOAT’s like Ciara and Janet, so being in Ciara’s video would be the ultimate ‘I made it’ moment. I believe it would also be like a nod of approval from Ciara that you can hang with the best and that you really have what it takes to be on the same stage as an icon. It would also show little Black girls from small towns like myself-that you can make it too!!
If given the opportunity to win 20,000, I would use it to fund my entrepreneurial business ventures. I have an LLC, called Epiphany Me- it’s about inspiring Black women to live life poetically. And I would like to create merchandise and curate community events that cater to Black women and other women of Color. And all of this requires money! So, although it would be to help get my business off the ground, my business is community oriented. So, that is what I would do if I was awarded 20k.
