Dance has been part of my life since childhood, from ballet and pointe to jazz and contemporary, but hip-hop is where I found my passion. Its history, rooted in creating safe spaces for Black and Brown communities, connects me to my culture, It encourages individuality, pushing me to find my unique style through movements. My biggest inspiration is Dexter Carr, whose mantra of being yourself reminds me to turn insecurity into growth. Hip-hop is my safe space and my greatest joy.
Being in Ciara's music video would be life-changing because it would allow me to pursue a passion I haven’t yet had the chance to fully explore professionally. Dance requires incredible strength and dedication, and this opportunity would be a huge step toward achieving my dreams. While many things in life can be taken away, memories last forever, and performing for an artist I grew up listening to would be an unforgettable experience and an honor.
If I had $20,000, the first thing I’d do is give back to my single mother, who introduced me to dance and supported me every step of the way. She drove me everywhere, prepared me for performances, and made my experiences possible, so she deserves something special in return. I’d also save toward buying a car—my current one is older than I am! Being able to invest in something reliable and meaningful for myself would truly be a dream come true.
The search is on for eight dancers to be flown to a live judged event in Phoenix, AZ, showcasing their skills to Ciara and her choreographer, Jamaica Craft. One will be chosen to appear in her upcoming music video and win $20,000!
