My dance style is a mix of old and new hip-hop with little flurries of contemporary. It does not rely on flexibility or tricks but raw, meaningful movement. The inspiration consists of the vulnerability of Olivia Rodrigo and the creativity and movement of choreographer Matt Steffanina. Not many dancers are from the South either, and I try to incorporate my heritage and training to my choreography.
I am from Alabama, and dance is not much of a concept here. Being in Ciara's music video will allow me to do what I love and share it with others. Dance is the one thing I have always been passionate about with no where to share it. This type of credential will not only boost my potential dance career, but it will make me a more confident person knowing my dream is possible.
I would invest in my future and move to a place where dance classes and opportunities are more accessible. I would give ten percent of my winnings to my church and their mission trips, and then I would use some for actual professional headshots and possibly a down payment on a house in a city where opportunities are available. I do not know what else I would use the money on because the money is not the grand prize I have been focusing on. Being in the music video is a prize enough.
The search is on for eight dancers to be flown to a live judged event in Phoenix, AZ, showcasing their skills to Ciara and her choreographer, Jamaica Craft. One will be chosen to appear in her upcoming music video and win $20,000!
