My dance style blends high-energy Hip Hop and modern dance with a sultry twist. I’ve always thought of it as R&B, given the lack of an official dance style for that genre. Influenced by 90s and 2000s artists like Beyoncé, whose evolution in dance inspired me, Chris Brown, whose charisma and style shine through every movement, and Ciara, whose fluid, sensual movements felt both natural and captivating, my style was shaped by watching these icons.
I didn’t have the opportunity to pursue an official dance degree due to the cost of schooling, but dancing alongside someone I grew up admiring would push me to new heights and truly be a dream come true. It would add a significant achievement to my résumé, affirming my professionalism as a dancer and choreographer, even without the degree—though I still hope to earn one in the future, as I believe it’s important. $20,000 would increase my ability to support the youth in my community. It is vital to invest in the younger generation of dancers, especially knowing how much dance helped build my own confidence growing up. I want to pass that experience on to others, specifically the youth. My plan is to open a dance studio in my hometown to provide a space for a dance team that fosters confidence and brings the art of dance back to the community. Additionally helping others with dance fitness for health.
Colossal is a nationally registered professional fundraiser that inspires people to advocate for themselves and those in need. Through online competitions like Entrepreneur of Impact, Colossal offers participants the opportunity to make their mark while also making a big impact.
