My mama was a dancer both in high school growing up, and in church. I grew up watching videos of her. Hiphop has always had my heart. I feel the beat in my chest. And I can’t help but dance. Anywhere. It’s always been home. My Mama was a Bulldoggie captain in High School, and they called her Captain Crunch in the church. She was that Dancing Chola. A badass mama for sure. I took after her in a lot of ways. I’m her mini. Her face and everything. So I wanted to be just like her.
I’ve always dreamed of mastering my craft and being in videos not for the money or fame from anything but because I really believe that dance has helped me make it though times in my life I didn’t believe I would make it. I grew up watching Ciara and admiring her for her style in her dance. Always keeping it like how hip hop started on the streets. BEAUTIFUL and amazing in her own way. To be next to her or in front of her would be an opportunity I never knew was possible.
I’d help get my grams care she needs, and I’d invest in my own dreams to master hip hop and get the fullness out of the life i’ve had. Coming from a lot of trama and at times believing I had to take my life to feel some type of peace, dancing has kept me. Connected to My Mama and feeling that freedom and love I have in it.
