My inspiration derives from my Filipino culture, the breaking/battle scene, non-verbal storytelling, and the grit of my hometown, Houston. Since I was young, I’ve admired the universal language of movement. Immersed in my rowdy local battle scene, I fell in love with surrendering yourself to whatever story the music told you to tell. I am the grit of breaking on concrete, inspired by water-like flow and the spunk of the South. Filipino hospitality shines in my style–always giving.
Being in Ciara’s MV would impact my life by letting myself and people worldwide know that larger-than-life goals really are attainable. I have always been terrified for the future of my art and career, but being in the MV would let me know that despite the nags of, “Choose something financially stable!”, creativity is never worth abandoning. Being in this MV would not only inspire me to work harder, but to ignite the spark in others who are just as scared as I've been.
The money would go to my future: college savings, dance intensives, and giving back to my supporters. College is right around the corner, and my dream is to be successful in my creative career and while making enough so that I can give back to those who refuse to give up on me. I’d put the money into places where I can better myself, my craft, and my discipline. Lastly, I'd get a personal reward. Self-love means so much: an investment in oneself is an investment towards brighter futures.
Colossal is a nationally registered professional fundraiser that inspires people to advocate for themselves and those in need. Through online competitions like Entrepreneur of Impact, Colossal offers participants the opportunity to make their mark while also making a big impact.
