My dance style is a fusion of hip-hop, contemporary, jazz, and ballet, allowing me to express stories in powerful ways. I’ve been deeply inspired by legends who paved the way—Debbie Allen, Alvin Ailey, Judith Jamison, and Lori Ann Gibson—along with artists like Ciara and Michael Jackson, who have redefined movement and artistry. Their work has shown me that dance isn’t just about steps—it’s about impact, representation, and using your gift to inspire others.
Dancing in Ciara’s music video would be more than just a personal achievement—it would be a full-circle moment. Growing up, I watched her performances, studying every move, dreaming of the day I could share the stage with an artist who has inspired me for years. Seeing her perform at the BET Awards was a turning point for me; I knew I wanted to follow in her footsteps and use dance to tell powerful stories. Winning $20,000 would allow me to turn my passion into a platform for change. I would finally be able to relocate from Ohio and pursue dance full-time, but more importantly, I would invest in my community. I want to create spaces where young Black dancers can train, grow, and gain access to opportunities that often feel out of reach. I want to be the person who makes sure the next generation doesn’t have to fight as hard to be seen.
