Help me compete to become the Dance Icon and appear in a music video with Ciara and win $20,000!
I grew up primarily focusing on technical Ballet, but always wanted to learn more because I admired how unique and expressive other styles could be. By age 10, I was exploring Jazz, contemporary, and even musical theater. Now I’m a co-leader and dancer in a German dance group that mixes traditional steps with modern styles of dance and music. Dance is so creative; I appreciate that different styles allow for variation in artistic expression. Whenever I dance, I feel joy.
Being in Ciara’s music video would be a tremendous opportunity because it would allow me to expand beyond the limitations I’ve had as a dancer in a small town. The studio I went to growing up closed down and for a while I had no outlet, so I would dance in the backyard or the garage, or wherever I could practically. Now as a college graduate and a young mother, I look for chances to dance whenever possible, and make efforts to inspire others in their love for it.
The opportunity to share the experience and love of dance is priceless. With that it’s hard to say, but the $20,000 would make a huge difference regardless. Some of it I would set aside for my son, to put towards his future and success. The rest of it would be used to build in the present a comfortable life and future for my little family. My family has always supported my passion for dance, so it would be right to use anything I earn to help them in return.
The search is on for eight dancers to be flown to a live judged event in Phoenix, AZ, showcasing their skills to Ciara and her choreographer, Jamaica Craft. One will be chosen to appear in her upcoming music video and win $20,000!
