Watching my parents dancing in our home growing up definitely inspired me to push the envelope and develop my own dance style. The movement that I say in shows like ABDC and So You Think You Can Dance created this drive to stay true to self while learning new techniques to tell different stories. Overall I’m inspired my the music I’m dancing to and the mood I’m aiming to express through that song/performance.
It would give me the funding to take that leap of faith as a veteran to invest in myself and dream of opening a performing arts school for under privileged youth. Having the opportunity to be a Program Coordinator and Dance Instructor & coach for the Boys & Girls Clubs showed me the good no profit after school programs do in neighborhoods that have children that looked like my family members in them.
