From the time I realized I was able to move my body to match a beat until the second I sleep today I want to dance. My inspiration stems from the music itself. When I danced professionally I did every genre my mom would allow me to. Throughout high school I was apart of a step team, and that made my love for dance skyrocket. I’ve always been self conscious, unless I’m dancing. I feel like I break into a new person when I can dance freely. Being in Ciara’s music video would not only prove to myself that I am confident, beautiful, and talented. It would also allow me the space and opportunity to grow and continue to dance. To encourage girls like me to reach for the stars and beyond, and not let those control their image.
I’m currently working towards paying for my education. I am a part-time crew member at Trader Joe’s, and looking for another job just to be able to afford my college. My parents are unable to afford my college, and financial aid has been a huge burden. If there is one thing I care more for than dance, it’s my future. I want to make my family proud of me.
