As a child, I would emulate moves from Janet and Michael Jackson. But when Ciara came out, she really instilled a confidence and swagger in me that I always carried with myself. She inspired me to start a Hip Hop Step team in high school and get comfortable competing and battling other dancers.
It would be life changing to get that kind of visibility and exposure! My children especially my Autistic children would be able to see Mommy on TV and be proud, my husband would get to see me fulfilling a childhood dream, and the world would get to witness my light on a major production with one of the best musical artists of our time.
I would use the money to create a business that offers dance classes for special needs children. Music and dance are a big part of my children’s learning, communication, and healing journey. My Autistic children sang their first words before they could talk. I want other families especially of non-verbal children to experience that same joy!
