I'm a self-taught Hip Hop Dancer/Choreographer. I can do any type of dance because I catch on and adapt to every style quickly. I started dancing when You Got Served came out. I literally would record 106 & Park or MTV on tape and constantly rewind the videos and learn the dances and became cold at it. My first gig right out of high school was Ciara's concert in '05 but she didn't show up but Floetry, The Manhattans, and other artists still showed, so we still danced and opened up for them.
It would inspire my local dance peers/community. It's hard enough being a dancer people don't want to pay you your worth but especially if you're not signed. People tend to only look to LA, NY, & ATL for professionals but we have professional dancers with professional resumes here. The only difference is opportunity & location. This would inspire the dancers here that you don't have to move to big cities to be taken seriously as a professional industry dancer
I would put on our use it to put on our musical The Christmas Chest. It's a mixture of Timelessness like The Wiz, Epicly entertaining like Greatest Showman, and inspirational and HeartWarming like Jingle Jangle. I know our musical is the new classic. Right up there along with The Lion King, The Wiz, The NutCracker, In the Heights, and THe Christmas Chest. Sold out in every US city and franchised across the world.
The search is on for eight dancers to be flown to a live judged event in Phoenix, AZ, showcasing their skills to Ciara and her choreographer, Jamaica Craft. One will be chosen to appear in her upcoming music video and win $20,000!
