My dance style is specializing in Breaking. My strengths in Breaking are power moves. I was inspired to dance through my elementary gym teacher who showed our class a few moves in class.
Being in Ciara's music video would be incredibly impactful, especially as a Hmong-American who overcame cultural stigmas around dance. Born in Thailand and migrating during the secret war in 1993, I’ve built a studio with over 300 students. This opportunity would inspire younger generations, showing them that their mentor continues to pursue his passion, proving that age and status as a studio owner are no barriers to following your dreams.
I would use the $20,000 to support my growing dance studio and its 300+ students.The funds would go toward much-needed renovations to create a safer, more inspiring space, offering dance scholarships to help students in need, and upgrading equipment to support classes. Additionally, it would support community outreach programs, enabling us to bring dance to underserved communities and provide more opportunities for aspiring dancers to thrive.
The search is on for eight dancers to be flown to a live judged event in Phoenix, AZ, showcasing their skills to Ciara and her choreographer, Jamaica Craft. One will be chosen to appear in her upcoming music video and win $20,000!
