My dance style is anything that I truly enjoy doing and makes me feel comfortable in my body. I have trained in almost every style of dance but tend to lean more towards tap, jazz and contemporary. I love tap because of the musicality and the way you can use your body not only to dance but to make music. I love the style of jazz because it’s funky and you can turn it into to so many different styles of jazz, such as hip hop.
I would like to be in Ciara’s music video because I truly love dance and everything that it embodies. It has given me some of the greatest friendships I have ever had as well as taught me how to be confident and trust myself and my feelings. Through dance I have achieved things I never thought possible. It has taught me how to not only be a leader but also how to be a part of a team and how to lift others up while doing that. Being in this music video would teach me much professionalism.
With $20,000 I would probably use some of it to help my dance studio to grow. My current dance studio has only been open for 8 years, my teachers broke off from My former studio to open the kind of studio they truly believe in. This has not been easy and we have a very small space currently, I feel if they had a much larger space and some money to put into it they could grow it into something amazing. The quality of dancers that they are trying to create exceeds anything I see around us.
The search is on for eight dancers to be flown to a live judged event in Phoenix, AZ, showcasing their skills to Ciara and her choreographer, Jamaica Craft. One will be chosen to appear in her upcoming music video and win $20,000!
