Movement gives me purpose.
Thank you for supporting me in this competition. Your donations and participation will benefit the Why Not You Foundation in their mission to fight poverty through education initiatives that empower youth to lead with a why not you attitude.
I am traditionally trained. I began dancing at age nine in the competitive scene in Utah (if you know anything about dance in Utah, you know what I mean by competitive). I was accepted into the University of Utah School of Dance at seventeen and trained for two years at that level in nearly all styles. I moved to Los Angeles in 2019 and hustled from gig to gig dancing professionally. I live in Utah now, teaching, dancing, and choreographing professionally. I really love jazz and contemporary.
Covid forced me into giving up my life in LA and an early transition into teaching and choreographing. While I wouldn’t change my experiences for the world, I can’t help but feel I have the talent for one more big experience. A final bow, if you will, from performing.
I’m currently working toward my masters degree in dance education. My dream is to open a dance conservatory in Utah to foster a love for dance and self expression in the next generation. The money would be a step closer to that dream.
