I love hip hop. So many dance styles build off of hip hop, take k-pop for example. The moves all have footwork and groove that take inspiration from hip hop. Such a groovy and free, yet intricate technique leaves so much to the imagination, and allows everyone who dances it to make it their own. I also love dances that you would see in pop music videos. The simple, poppy, fun dances. Anyone can execute them, and that is what makes a community. Diverse communities can enjoy the same art.
I am young, and my main dream is to be able to put something out to the world that moves them, and inspires them the day way I have been inspired. Some people may look at me, a skinny, awkward girl, and they would never expect me to love dancing, but there is a feeling that comes with breaking someone’s expectation of you that feels so empowering. I would be taking a piece of my identity and showing it to the world. My passion for dance, and arts overrides my inexperience in professional d
I would first take my family out somewhere on vacation to give back to them as much as they gave me. Perhaps to Asia, where we are from. Then, I would donate some to the organizations that matter to me. Women’s rights funds, Palestinian organizations, and Asian communities. Lastly, I would put the rest towards my education. I want to study abroad, so I would save it in my bank account for when the future calls for it. A university experience in England sounds wonderful!
The search is on for eight dancers to be flown to a live judged event in Phoenix, AZ, showcasing their skills to Ciara and her choreographer, Jamaica Craft. One will be chosen to appear in her upcoming music video and win $20,000!
