Authenticity with an aura of black excellence. The world is on my shoulders as the movement allows me to carry the weight of my ancestors through every piece embodied from the ground up to the root of black history that gave us this marvelous gift of dance. My style is a mixture of empowerment, creativity, skittles, freedom, drive, consistency, and God's hand. It's not one way to describe it because if you think about artist, there is not one way to describe them. Dance is everything
Dancing on the side of an Icon to a Chicago made awkward little black girl with a dream is like walking on the moon or sky flying for the first time with a parachute. It's a dream come true. This opportunity would impact my life entirely by giving that little girl that once was me the chance to be seen as MORE THAN ENOUGH. This would also inspire the next generation I am leading to chase there dreams and see that the impossible is possible and it can happen! It takes one to bring up everyone!
I would invest 20k in different ways. One being my mother's studio I grew up in, by enhancing it, and moving it up to a performing arts building of dance, theatre, voice, acting, music, and more for the youth of Chicago. Leaving the doors open for artist with a story that grew up witnessing the violence and struggle of Chi-town Communities. Another way is giving my family a new start, by investing in a dream home to break the generational cycle, and make a way for those who made a way for me.
Colossal is a nationally registered professional fundraiser that inspires people to advocate for themselves and those in need. Through online competitions like Entrepreneur of Impact, Colossal offers participants the opportunity to make their mark while also making a big impact.
