Help me compete to become the Dance Icon and appear in a music video with Ciara and win $20,000!
I started dancing when I was about 4 years old. I first started jazz/contemporary and then as I got older I started to love Hiphop way more. I am on a competitive dance team called Xtreme dance in Naperville IL and I've been a part of their company for 11 years. So in total I've been training for 14 years. As far as who was my inspiration, it's always been The Janet Jackson. When I was a little girl I would sit and watch all her videos and she inspired me so much as a dancer and a black woman.
I have always wanted to pursue a career in dance and possibly work as a backup dancer for an artist or in a music video, even after years of hard work and commitment during my upbringing and training. Dancing is my passion, and my family knows how much dancing means to me, so I want to make them proud. Therefore, being chosen to appear in Ciara's upcoming music video would be an absolute dream.
Lastly, I would utilize the $20,000 if I were given the chance to get it for education. I'm in my senior year and am beginning to apply to universities, which means a lot to me. My parents' money isn't all of it, and I'm hoping to receive scholarships as well. I would also use the money to provide for my family because they mean the world to me as well.
The search is on for eight dancers to be flown to a live judged event in Phoenix, AZ, showcasing their skills to Ciara and her choreographer, Jamaica Craft. One will be chosen to appear in her upcoming music video and win $20,000!
