The dance style I do is called “Memphis Jookin”. It’s one of the the most popular dance styles/cultures in the world right now. It’s based on footwork, gliding, toe stalls, ankle breaks and more. I’m originally from Memphis so I grew up doing it. I started from watching dancers like Lil Buck, G nerd, and Ladia Yates who are all pioneers of the style. It’s something different and it’s not easy to do because you can only learn by coming to Memphis to see t
It would impact me positively. Doing something huge like that can only add to your motivation and confidence. That’s an accomplishment that my children’s children will be able to talk about. Also just the fact that it would bring even more light to my dance style and my city Memphis that I love to represent.
After winning the 20,000 I will be using it to reinvest into my career. I’m a full time artist, dancer, and I live stream on the side. Reinvesting the money into these areas will help bring in new opportunities and doors.
