From age 3, I trained in classical ballet. I grew up with historical inspo like Balanchine & contemporary inspo like Misty Copeland. I retired from ballet after high school but found my way back to dance through drag, burlesque, & heels. NYC ballroom history became my new inspo. Drag in particular breathed new life into my dance practice - a way to intersect my queerness w my dance. My style now is athletic, balletic, sensual, & unapologetic.
I’ve been performing drag/burlesque since 2018 in my home state of NC. This year, I decided I to take steps toward larger scale dance opportunities where I can work w artists who were formative influences. Being in Ciara’s music video would provide a powerful avenue through which to gain professional dance experience through working with one of my greatest musical and dance inspirations. Particularly for heels and burlesque, Ciara has always been the main artist I practice and choreo
My 2025 goal is to audition and being accepted into the Steps on Broadway or Fosse conservatory intensives, to take the leap into more professional dance opportunities. These short term intensives offer classes to develop technique across a diversity of genres, along with coaching on auditions, resumes, and portfolios, & networking/performance opportunities. The award from Dance Icon would fund my tuition.
Colossal is a nationally registered professional fundraiser that inspires people to advocate for themselves and those in need. Through online competitions like Entrepreneur of Impact, Colossal offers participants the opportunity to make their mark while also making a big impact.
