My passion for arts, education, and entertainment stemmed from a young age as I used mediums like dance as a safe space for self-expression to heal from the murder of my father in 2005. I enjoy experimenting with merging African, Hip-Hop, Krump, and Chicago Footwork together to create stories of resilience, vitality, and activism while simultaneously challenging the viewer to think, discuss, and confront both external and internal issues. I’m innovative, fun, and daring to the status quo
My birthday is September 29th & the debut of Goodies was September 28, 2004. I begged my mom to buy the album as a birthday present. I played the CD backwards and forwards & followed the career of Ciara ever since. I grew up looking forward to her music video drops as the choreography was nothing short of iconic & would emulate the moves as if I was dancing alongside her in the video. Being in her next video would be a dream come true! It could take me to the next level of my career.
I am the founder of an educational performing arts company in Chicago, Martian Movement. I don’t have a consistent space to host classes, rehearsals, etc. The cost to rent studio space is expensive and discouraging when trying to bring communities together to create. The money would be invested towards purchasing dance studio space as the fruition of my dream to build a performing arts school doubling as a counseling center to teach healthy coping skills and encourage freedom of expression
The search is on for eight dancers to be flown to a live judged event in Phoenix, AZ, showcasing their skills to Ciara and her choreographer, Jamaica Craft. One will be chosen to appear in her upcoming music video and win $20,000!
