Majorette-style dance is my 1st love. I believe it's because I inherited moves from my mother ( yes I get it from my mama! Lol) I hold her baton close to this day. I also love hip hop & jazz/contemporary but I also excel at liturgical dance (which I recently got to showcase in a Broadway musical). Surprisingly with my last name being Taplin I don't know how to tap dance but I can rise to the occasion if the opportunity fits.
This would be a TREMENDOUS honor to learn from who many consider to be a dance legend in our generation. The visibility could allow me to network and create with other dancers. Most importantly, I get to honor God through dance so that would give me satisfaction knowing that I'm utilizing my talents on a bigger platform.
I would use the money to further train in dance, singing, & theater. It is my aspiration that this money propels me into being a Broadway megastar! I'd also spend the money on another dream career that I'll keep secret for now. 🤫 Finally, I want to feed my community with the money. I've longed to host a food drive but didn't have the money to do so. The way this country treats the poor/needy HURTS me but I won't get political here. Let's keep the focus on the joys of dance. 😁
The search is on for eight dancers to be flown to a live judged event in Phoenix, AZ, showcasing their skills to Ciara and her choreographer, Jamaica Craft. One will be chosen to appear in her upcoming music video and win $20,000!
