Tell us about your dance style or inspiration:

I am deeply moved and inspired by the Alvin Ailey company and the black experience in America. Contemporary and hip hop are two styles of dance I feel most at home in. The power to emote through movement and tell a story is the reason I dance. Music is also a huge motivator to how I move and see sound. While I’m college, I got to meet and dance for Jennifer Archibald and the way she has fused hip hop and contemporary dance opened my eyes to a new world of dance pushes me to grow and create

How would being in Ciara's music video impact your life?

Being in Ciara’s video would change my world. It would mean that all the long nights practicing and bleeding feet have led to this moment. One of my favorite dance memories is from 5th grade dancing to Lose Control in a production for school. As a kid, I imagined myself dancing for Ciara representing for little girls that look like and shaped like me. I love how Ciara makes choreography the highlight of her video and as a young dancer, which is why I would spend hours dancing along.

What would you do with the $20,000?

First, I would scream and cry! Then I would donate to Rozelle Elementary in Memphis where I fell in love with dance and then to COCA in St Louis where I fell in love with teaching dance. Then I would help my mom and family. Finally, I would find a space of my own to create dance and for others to share in my love for the art. A safe space for artists to express, create, collaborate, and truly take up space. I know what that opportunity to be seen feels like and I want others to feel free too.
