I’m the next Dance Icon because when I step out on that stage, I am a showstopper! I aim to please and I always want to make an impact.
Thank you for supporting me in this competition. Your donations and participation will benefit the Why Not You Foundation in their mission to fight poverty through education initiatives that empower youth to lead with a why not you attitude.
Since the age of five, I have trained and currently specialize in Ballet, Jazz, Hip Hop, Contemporary, African, and many more. I am currently on a full scholarship at the Boston Conservatory at Berklee, furthering my training in dance. I have always been inspired by Missy Elliot, Michael Jackson, Beyoncé, Ciara, and so many more. The creativity in every music video and tour set has honestly inspired me and shifted my way of thinking.
Being in Ciara’s video would impact my life so much because it would allow me to inspire the people and black dancers in my city, the DMV. There’s not a lot of good influences in my area and I want to show people that you can make it out and do something good with your life. I also feel like this competition and being in Ciara’s video will give me even more motivation and reminders to keep going.
If I had the opportunity to win the $20,000 competition money, I would invest and start a foundation giving back to artists and aspiring entrepreneurs that want to further pursue their craft after high school. I want to also start my own mentorship program for black men in dance.
